Our History

For over half a century, Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has delivered premium facilities maintenance services to customers, large and small, in the local marketplace. HBM was established in 1957 as primarily a janitorial company in Honolulu, but has grown to provide a variety of services across the Hawaiian Islands. HBM looks forward to the future in Hawaiʻi as it continues to evolve in the business of providing superior customer service delivery in all building service arenas. HBM has a long-standing reputation as the industry leader in providing dependable, quality, and cost-efficient solutions for the property management and building services community.

Andrea Weiss

Chief Executive Officer

As HBM’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrea Weiss oversees all aspects of operations, training, financial management, and business development across HBM’s Janitorial, HVAC, Engineering and Restoration departments. She comes to HBM following over a decade of service as a Navy Submarine Warfare Officer where she led cross-functional teams in time-critical operations.

Her roles spanned positions in submarine operations, nuclear propulsion, safety administration, weapons systems, shipyard maintenance, technical training, operational planning, quality assurance and personnel management.

She graduated with a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering, B.S., and Physics, B.A., from Columbia University and Willamette University, respectively. She additionally holds a Master of Arts in Security Studies from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service. 

Aaron Bowman

Engineering & Operations

Aaron Bowman is a results-driven engineering and operations leader, bringing over two decades of experience across military, telecommunication, and facilities management sectors. His career began as a U.S. Navy submariner and Coast Guard facilities mechanic, laying a diverse and strong technical foundation. He advanced through a series of roles at a major telecommunications company including Facilities Engineering, Real Estate Operations, Field Operations and MDU Projects.

From building engineer to Senior Manager of Field Operations—overseeing MDU deployments, large-scale network audits, and led high-performing, cross-functional teams across multiple regions.

Customer centered and operations-focused, Aaron now serves as Engineering Account Manager for the HBM team, where he leverages his broad expertise to drive performance, safety, and service excellence while building and maintaining relationships with crews and clients alike.

Jodi Okada

Vice President of Operations

Jodi Okada is the Vice President of Operations, providing supervision and leadership across all of HBM’s four departments – Janitorial, HVAC, Engineering, and Restoration.

Her industry expertise was built on decades of experience at HBM at roles spanning Payroll, Director of Internal Operations, and Director of HVAC. In addition, Jodi leads HBM’s team of Janitorial Account Managers through contract negotiations, customer relations, and day-to-day site supervision.

Kerry Won

Chief Operating Officer

Kerry Won, Chief Operating Officer, is responsible to oversee and manage day-to-day operations, project timelines, business developments and employee development. With 36 years of experience in telecommunications operations, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a strong focus on performance optimization, and expertise in implementing effective manufacturing processes within field operations.

Throughout his career, Mr. Won has prioritized workplace safety, spearheading numerous initiatives in compliance with OSHA regulations. Mr. Won graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.

Beth Littledell

Human Resources

Beth Littledell is a seasoned Human Resources leader who obtained her degree in Business Administration and Human Resources from Louisiana State University. With over 20 years of HR-focused experience, Beth has a proven track record of helping companies achieve operational efficiency and cultivate an engaged, high-performing workforce. Having spent more than a decade in executive leadership roles, Beth is now overseeing HBM’s Human Resources and driving the strategic use of HR technology to streamline processes and enhance the employee experience. Passionate about shaping the future of HR, Beth is committed to fostering a workplace that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and engagement.

Eric Kang

Senior Accounting Manager

As the Senior Accounting Manager, Eric Kang has over seven years of accounting experience gained from diverse entities. In his recent role as a Senior Consultant at KMH LLP (RSM Affiliated), he served as the in-charge professional for various engagements, including Non-Profit, Trust and Estates, Real Estate Development, Litigation-support, and government sectors.

Eric’s expertise extends to accounting advisory, financial reporting, and process improvement, making him an invaluable asset to our organization. His responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and system implementation.

Additionally, Eric provides support in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring that financial standards are met across all engagements. Mr. Kang graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Accounting while maintaining an active CPA license.

Jaycelyn Nakata

Safety Administrator

As the Safety Administrator, Jaycelyn Nakata is dedicated to ensuring a safe work environment for all employees. She plays a key role in the implementation and upkeep of our safety protocols and procedures. Jaycelyn has a strong background in field operations, particularly within the telecommunications industry.

During her time as a Field Operations Specialist, she gained extensive experience in conducting technician safety assessments, performing work quality observations, and managing both multi-dwelling unit (MDU) projects and large-scale network plant audits. As our Safety Administrator, her primary focus is on promoting safe work practices, delivering comprehensive training, and driving operational excellence throughout the organization.
