Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM), Hawai‘i’s trusted leader in caring for commercial facilities, is proud to welcome Ron Porter as its new President.
Born and raised in Hawai‘i, Porter brings both deep local roots and a proven record of thoughtful leadership. Throughout his career, he has guided organizations through financial and operational challenges with steadiness and care—skills that will serve HBM as it continues to grow in service to Hawai‘i’s businesses and
communities.
For more than 60 years, HBM has cared for the places where Hawai‘i lives and works. With nearly 700 employees serving more than 300 active sites across O‘ahu, Maui, Hawai‘i Island, and Kaua‘i, HBM remains grounded in local knowledge and relationships, trusted to care for facilities with respect, reliability, and integrity.
Porter previously served as CFO of The Miranda Group and CEO of Tailored Capital, where he oversaw significant portfolios while ensuring financial stability and operational strength. His approach has always been guided by stewardship and kuleana—balancing growth with integrity and long-term trust. “I was raised here, and I know the importance of taking care of our home, our communities, and each other. HBM has built decades of service, a reputation for reliability, and the trust of both clients and employees – all of which I greatly respect. As President, my role now is to steward these strengths while bringing the vision and discipline to help them grow. That has been my life’s work, and I am committed to carrying that legacy forward, guided always by the values of Hawai‘i,” said Porter.
